Map Your
Nervous System
sunday, JULy 21st
10:30 AM - 12:30 pm in oceanside
Spaces are limited.
Through learning about your window of capacity, mapping your nervous system to track what takes you out of that window of capacity and understanding what helps bring you back into coherence and connection, you can reshape your nervous system responses and grow your capacity.
This workshop will support you in understanding yourself on a deeper level, so that you can better show up to your life and in your relationships, even in those sticky, challenging and uncomfortable moments. You will understand the importance of and how to resource yourself in those moments so that you can respond in real-time in ways that feel good and affirming for you and how you want to show up in the world.
In this workshop, you will learn:
⋒ The window of capacity and how to support nervous system resilience
⋒ Myths and misunderstandings about the nervous system
⋒ Physiology of the Vagus Nerve & Polyvagal Theory
⋒ Defining and understanding your different nervous system states
⋒ The power and importance of the Social Nervous System
You will come away with:
᠅ A practical understanding of your autonomic nervous system
᠅ Deeper awareness of your unique nervous system responses
᠅ A foundational toolkit for widening your window of capacity
᠅ A sense of empowerment to respond in new ways to familiar feelings
“There is no such thing as a 'bad' response; there are only adaptive responses."
— Stephen Porges

What is Nervous
System Mapping?
Nervous System Mapping is based on Polyvagal Theory and the work of Stephen Porges and Deb Dana. Nervous System Mapping offers a framework through which you can see the tendencies, patterns and intricacies of your nervous system through understanding yourself through the lens of your nervous system and neuroception.
Neuroception is a term coined by Stephen Porges which describes the below-consciousness process of the body constantly taking in information from the environment and scanning for safety or threat. Understanding Neuroception and our own nervous systems through the mapping exercise promotes awareness and self-compassion which fosters a deeper safety within ourselves and also allows for healthy boundaries as well as deeper connection with others.
“With the ability to recognize a moment of distress and notice the autonomic state, we move into a moment of awareness instead of simply being swept deeper into dysregulation.”
— Deb Dana, Anchored: How to Befriend Your Nervous System Using Polyvagal Theory
